Abstract

This study aims to present the Educational Philosophy of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan in two aspects: the fundamental Educational Philosophy and the Educational Philosophy of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. This is to reflect how this contemporary Indian philosopher and educator laid the groundwork of educational concept in India. Findings showed that the Fundamental Educational Philosophy is embedded as one part of philosophical subject. Therefore, it has been used as a basic philosophy that analyzes and
synthesizes content so that educational goals can be reached. The Educational Philosophy of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan focuses on the importance of the educational institution, teacher and learner, which affects the learning of human beings. According to Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, education is learners’ self-learning and self-exploring. It is the development of intellect, along with the development of the human spirit as the way of truth of life.
